Far East Her Power | From a cage strangler to a mother of three, she is full of responsibility on the production line

At 7 a.m., Feng Jinhong rode her electric scooter through the tree-lined avenues of the Far East factory complex. In the basket lay steamed buns stuffed with her children, and in her pocket was the production plan she'd drawn up the previous night.

For this cage twister who has worked at the Far East Plastic Wire Factory for 17 years, her daily life is like the machine she operates, meshing precisely between the gears of "mother" and "craftsman.

#01 The obsessive-compulsive disorder of the production line hides her seriousness

In 2009, Feng Jinhong and her husband followed the guidance of their relatives and friends and went to Far East. The couple passed the interview together and became the first batch of "dual-career partners" on the production line. They were originally a family, but because "one person goes to Far East, the whole family is Far East", they became even closer.

When she first joined Far East, Feng Jinhong couldn't even identify all the switches on the cage twisting machine. "I'd just watch the master do it, even writing down the number of turns of a screw in a notebook." Now, her apprentices fill the entire workshop. "One cut in the next process means hundreds of meters of wire are wasted. If I spend an extra half hour, the company saves a little." This obsessive-compulsive disorder has earned her the title of "Advanced Inpidual" for many consecutive years. Colleagues tease her about "competing with the machine," but she points to the freshly twisted cable and says, "Look at the grain! It's as even as a little girl's braids. That's real work."

#02 The confidence of the mother of three lies in the company's heartwarming policies

On the day of her third child’s birth, Feng Jinhong was still rushing to give birth in the workshop. This “unexpected” arrival of a baby made her worry for a while: “My two daughters are still young. Can I balance my work and family life with another one?”

The answer lies in the care given by the leader

When she was seven months pregnant, the company specially assigned her an apprentice, allowing her to switch from physical operation to technical guidance; during her maternity leave, her salary was paid as usual and the maternity allowance was not reduced in full; after returning to work, her position was still reserved for her, and even the machine parameters were adjusted according to her habits.

In Far East, families with three or more children can receive up to 280,000 yuan in childbirth subsidies. "When I gave birth to my second child, the company and my colleagues showed me a lot of care. When my third child was born, the company gave me a third child subsidy, which was enough to buy milk powder for the baby," she said with a smile.

#03 She has not changed her job for 17 years, and her life has become a lively poem

Someone advised her: "Three children is stressful, why not change to an easier job?" Feng Jinhong shook her head. From chief operator to captain, and then to assistant craftsman, her promotion track is full of perseverance: when she took the junior, intermediate and senior technician exams, she went home and recited at night; when she taught apprentices, she compiled the tricks into a jingle.

Now her eldest daughter is attending college in Nanjing, and her second daughter can help with the housework within her ability. When the bell rings, she hops on her electric scooter and rushes home with a brisk pace: "I'm making braised pork for the kids tonight. My eldest daughter has been talking about it on video for days."

There are many stories like Feng Jinhong's in the Far East. The policy of "giving priority to those who promise to give birth to three or more children" is not just a sentence during recruitment, but also a support throughout the workplace: pay slips during maternity leave, apprenticeships at work, rental information around dormitories... so that every family with many children can have fewer concerns when struggling.

"It is better to strive for the future than to regret the past", this is what Feng Jinhong often says. In the 17 years of working, she really did so amid the roar of the production line - the machine turned steadily, the children grew up happily, and the days turned steadily between the gears and the cradle. And this stability is the best answer that Far East gives to every worker.
